Anemocoria reimagines the intersection of the Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Meridionale as a new ecological and productive urban landscape. Inspired by anemochory—the dispersal of seeds through wind—the project uses seed movement as a strategy for reconnecting fragmented landscapes, waterways and communities across the territory.

The proposal develops as an urban system rather than an isolated intervention. Existing ecological corridors are strengthened and extended, creating connections between green areas while introducing new public spaces, pedestrian routes and productive landscapes along the canals. At the center of this network, a circular landscape becomes a meeting point between the city, water and surrounding territory, bringing together public life, research and environmental processes.

Seed collection, cultivation, preservation, research and dispersal form a continuous cycle embedded within the urban landscape. The seed library, nursery, research spaces and wind towers support this larger system while remaining accessible to the public through a continuous elevated loop.

Through this approach, Anemocoria treats the city as a landscape in motion, where wind, seeds, water and people become agents of connection. The project proposes a new relationship between urban development and ecology, allowing biodiversity to spread beyond the site and gradually become part of the wider territory.
