Located in the heart of Al Weibdeh, one of Amman's most culturally vibrant and walkable neighborhoods, the Green Hostel explores how architecture can strengthen the relationship between community, nature, and everyday life. The project responds to the district's rich artistic identity and human-scale urban fabric by creating a living environment that encourages interaction, creativity, and environmental responsibility.

The design is organized around a structured architectural grid that integrates pockets of vegetation throughout the building. Rather than treating greenery as a decorative element, these planted spaces become an active part of daily life. Residents are invited to cultivate herbs, vegetables, and other plants, transforming the hostel into a collaborative landscape that supplies fresh produce for the communal kitchen while fostering a stronger connection to nature.

Inspired by Al Weibdeh's thriving street art culture, the project also incorporates designated surfaces for graffiti and artistic expression. These evolving canvases allow residents to leave their mark on the building, ensuring that the architecture continuously reflects the people who inhabit it and the creative spirit of its surroundings.

By combining productive landscapes, shared social spaces, and opportunities for self-expression, the Green Hostel reimagines temporary accommodation as a community-centered environment—one that promotes sustainability, participation, and a strong sense of place.
